We help companies fix their trajectory with our 100-Day Turnaround.
What we do
Rampage Labs is a turnaround firm. We work with software and tech-enabled companies that are stuck, busy everywhere but moving nowhere, and we find out why, testing what everyone believes against the company's own records, so the answer rests on evidence we can prove. Then we get it moving again, with a plan the team can run and the measures built in, so you can see it working while they execute.
Why companies get stuck
Bad things happen to every company. Markets shift, deadlines slip, money gets tight. That is not what kills them. What kills them is the response. As a business grows there are more moving parts and more layers between a warning and a decision, and the response that should catch problems early is the thing that fell behind. Effort lands in the wrong places, and the warning signs eat the time you had to course correct.
We repair the internal systems that shape how your company responds to critical situations and decisions. Using your own records and numbers, we find the root cause, size the fix, get the hard decisions committed while there is still time and money to act, and turn it into a 90-day plan with the measures built in, so you can see you are on the right path while the team executes, not months later.
We do not promise every business is savable. We map the paths you can actually take and show you which one has the best chance of success, with exactly what to measure and monitor along it, so this course correction goes differently from the attempts that came before. And if the business cannot be saved, there is a real difference between crashing, burning everything, and losing it all, and winding down while you can still preserve the relationships, the reputation, and hopefully the money.
Work with us
Every engagement starts small and earns the next step.
One sitting, about two hours, no preparation and no data needed. We test the three failure patterns live with the people in the room. You leave with a written snapshot of what we found and one number to pull that week to confirm it.
Ten days of diagnosis inside your own records. It ends with the hard decisions committed in writing and a 90-Day Gameplan your team runs. We check in at day 40, 70 and 100, put your numbers next to the figures agreed upfront, and adjust wherever the evidence says so. Not whether something launched. Whether the numbers moved.
Optional follow-on for teams that want us close while the plan runs. Quoted as needed.
What we look for
Set luck aside and nearly every stuck company is caught in one of three patterns. The diagnosis exists to find which one is the root, because fixing the root clears most of what sits on top of it.
Everyone believes they agree on what done means, but the definition quietly shifts with the role, the task and the deadline, and those expectations go uncommunicated.
Effort goes where it feels most important instead of where the value is, so hard work stops compounding.
Decisions run on information that is old, incomplete, or softened on its way up, so problems feel sudden even though the warning existed.
The seven steps
Inside the 100-Day Turnaround, every diagnosis runs the same seven steps.
- 1
Big Picture: we get what you are actually trying to achieve in writing, including what failure would look like.
- 2
Reality: we rebuild what actually happened and measure the drift between what was expected and where you really are.
- 3
Pattern: we separate the root causes from the symptoms that keep coming back.
- 4
Depth: we work out how deep each fix must go, so effort compounds instead of getting wasted on patches, and nobody repaints the whole car over a curbed rim.
- 5
Call: we get the hard decisions committed, with success and failure agreed upfront, so the team knows what to do in every outcome.
- 6
Plan: we turn it into a 90-day plan where everyone knows what to do and why.
- 7
Proof: we check in at day 40, 70 and 100, compare against the numbers you agreed to, and adjust the plan wherever the evidence says so.
What you leave with
Every engagement ends in a verdict, one of four honest outcomes, and each one comes with its plan.
You get the one the evidence supports, and each one comes with its plan. Keep going and change direction come with the 90-Day Gameplan, broken down into goals, tasks, time estimates, resource allocation, and the exact metrics to watch, so you can monitor progress along the way. Wait comes with the re-entry conditions in writing, the numbers that tell you when to move. Wind down means you choose. Half your money back, or the full wind-down plan. And if we cannot put a plan in front of you that we believe in, you get all of it back. The answer is the first page, not the product.
Why you can trust the answer
Everything we conclude comes from your own records, and you can re-run every check yourself. Opinions manage impressions. Artifacts do not.
Thirty-two tools, seven steps, published free. Nothing is held back. The method was never the hard part. The hard part is reading the evidence for what it says, not for what anyone hoped it would say.
Until the first case studies are published, a special founding rate is available: founding engagements run well below the standard rate, in exchange for a published case study with the results told straight, good or bad. The founding rate is an exchange, not a discount.
Who runs it
Josh. Eighteen years inside software companies, writing the code, leading the teams, untangling the messes. His record is making the right call without the authority to enforce it, early, in writing, and being proven right later. That record is the firm.
